Small-batch beta in development

Grounding sandals should not be disposable.

Conduits™ are modular grounding sandals built with replaceable earth plugs, longer-life lace routing, and repairable components so the parts that wear can be replaced instead of throwing away the whole sandal.

Replace the wear part, not the sandal. The earth-contact plugs are designed as low-cost replacement parts, allowing the sandal body to last for years instead of wearing out at the contact point.
No exposed front end-post chewing through the lace. The lace architecture avoids the vulnerable exposed end-post termination used on similar grounding sandals, helping the lace system last dramatically longer.

The problem

Most sandals fail at small parts, then the whole product becomes trash.

Grounding sandals have an extra failure point: the conductive contact area. Once that wears down, the sandal can lose the very function it was bought for.

The wear points should be designed as replaceable parts.

Conduits start from a simple idea: the sole body, lace system, and conductive contacts should not have the same lifespan. The pieces that touch the ground and take the most abuse should be serviceable.

Years Goal lifespan for the sandal body with replaceable wear parts.
Low-cost Replacement plugs instead of replacing the entire sandal.

Laces should not die at one exposed termination point.

Earth Runners-style sandals are close to the right idea, but the front lace end-post creates a concentrated abrasion point. Conduits remove that vulnerable exposed end-post so the lace is not constantly grinding at the same weak spot.

Up to 5x Target improvement in lace life compared with exposed end-post wear.
Modular Laces, plugs, and wear parts are designed to be replaced.
The modular system

A grounding sandal designed like repairable gear.

The design is not just a sandal with a conductive piece added. The whole product is organized around replaceable ground contact, longer-lasting lace routing, and small-batch serviceability.

Module 01

Replaceable earth plugs

The conductive plugs are the highest-wear grounding component. Making them replaceable keeps the grounding function alive without forcing a full sandal replacement.

Module 02

Long-life lace routing

The lace system avoids the exposed front end-post wear point used on similar sandals, reducing the concentrated abrasion that can destroy laces early.

Module 03

Serviceable construction

The sole, plugs, laces, and upper layers are treated as a system of parts. The goal is simple: replace what wears, preserve what still works.

Why it matters

Grounding footwear should stay grounded after real use.

A grounding sandal has to survive abrasion, flex, sweat, water, dirt, and repeated contact with rough ground. The electrical feature only matters if the mechanical design keeps it alive.

Disposable sandal logic

  • One worn contact point can compromise the grounding function.
  • One lace failure can end the sandal’s usefulness.
  • Small parts wear out, but the whole product gets replaced.
  • Replacement parts are unclear, unavailable, or not central to the product.

Conduits logic

  • Replaceable earth plugs preserve the grounding function over time.
  • No exposed front end-post reduces concentrated lace abrasion.
  • Modular construction separates the lifespan of each part.
  • Low-cost service parts help the sandal body last years instead of months.

The beta batch is for proving the repairable system.

The first Conduits batch will be small on purpose. The goal is to test the actual wear points: plug abrasion, lace routing, conductive continuity, adhesive bond strength, comfort, water exposure, and repeated flex.

  • Conductivity testing on grass, dirt, stone, and wet ground
  • Plug wear testing to refine replacement timing and geometry
  • Lace abrasion testing without an exposed front end-post
  • Walking comfort, pressure points, sweat, water, and daily-use testing

Small-batch beta

First access goes to people who will actually wear them.

This beta is for barefoot/minimalist footwear people, grounding experimenters, walkers, travelers, outdoor people, and anyone who wants repairable conductive sandals instead of disposable wellness gear.

What early access means

Joining the list puts you first in line for the handmade beta batch and product testing updates. It also helps decide sizing, quantity, replacement plug design, and which wear points need the most refinement before a wider launch.

  • Early notice when the first handmade beta batch is ready
  • Updates on plug wear, lace durability, grounding tests, and material refinements
  • Chance to give sizing, material, and strap feedback before wider release
  • First access to replacement parts as the modular system develops
